One of the oldest clubs in the United States, the West Palm Beach Rotary Club, established in 1919, brings together a diverse group of professional leaders dedicated to serving our community and beyond. As part of the oldest service organization in the world, our members are business and professional leaders who actively contribute to the well-being of our communities, enriching both our personal and professional lives.

Each week, our club hosts programs that keep us informed about important developments in our community, our nation, and the world. Our commitment to service extends from local projects to international initiatives, making a positive and lasting impact wherever we can.

The efforts and funds raised contribute to our community through the following projects:

Backpacks for high school students in the foster system.🎒

Dictionaries for 3rd graders in 15 area WPB schools. 📖

Principal grants for 15 area WPB Elementary schools.✍

Education Scholarships: Rotary strives to reward those students with stellar academic performance. Our club provides 2 scholarships supporting our students so they can focus on achieving their higher education and giving back to the community they came from.🎓

Feed the Hungry projects. 🥗

Holiday Gifts: we adopt several families in need and make sure they have everything they need for the holiday's. 🎁

Bike Project: We give out 30+ bikes to elementary students who have proven to be hard working and dedicated students.

How do local Rotary Clubs use their donations?

Rotary Clubs use their donations to fund a variety of projects and initiatives that align with their mission of promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, saving mothers and children, and growing local economies. Here are some common ways Rotary Clubs allocate their donations:

  1. Community Service Projects: Many Rotary Clubs use donations to support local community service projects. This can include building infrastructure like schools and hospitals, supporting local food banks, organizing health camps, or funding scholarships for students.
  2. International Projects: Rotary is a global organization, and many clubs participate in international service projects. These can include efforts to eradicate diseases like polio (through Rotary's PolioPlus program), provide clean water and sanitation in developing countries, or support disaster relief efforts.
  3. Youth Programs: Rotary Clubs often use donations to support youth programs such as Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Interact (a service club for young people), and Rotary Youth Exchange programs, which provide opportunities for cultural exchange and leadership development.
  4. Scholarships: Donations are frequently used to fund scholarships for students at various educational levels. This helps promote education and provides opportunities for students who may not have the financial means to pursue higher education.
  5. Rotary Foundation: Many clubs contribute a portion of their donations to The Rotary Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Rotary International. The Foundation supports larger global grants and projects that address some of the world's most pressing challenges.
  6. Local Initiatives: Rotary Clubs often focus on the specific needs of their local communities. This can include supporting local charities, funding public art installations, sponsoring community events, or providing resources for local schools and libraries.
  7. Emergency Relief: Clubs may also use donations to provide emergency relief in times of natural disasters or other crises, offering immediate support and resources to affected communities.

Each Rotary Club has autonomy in how they allocate their funds, so the specific uses of donations can vary widely depending on the club's priorities and the needs of the communities they serve.
